NHS Volunteer Responders

NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to support the NHS during the COVID-19 outbreak. An 'army' of volunteers is needed to support the 1.5m people in England who are at most risk from the virus to stay well. Doctors, nurses and other professionals will be able to refer people in to NHS Volunteer Responders and be confident that they have been matched with a reliable, named volunteer.

Telford & Wrekin Council

The Council have a support phone line - (01952) 382030 - and it is now making use of volunteers to help support people in vulnerable groups or self-isolating.

Red Cross Community Reserve

British Red Cross Community Reserve Volunteers are a network of people ready to help in an emergency, supporting their community by sharing public health messages, connecting with others safely and helping provide basic supplies. By signing up as a reserve volunteer, you may not be called upon to help immediately. A community reserve volunteer would only be asked to help in the event of a local, major crisis.

Local support groups

There are also local volunteer groups supporting people more widely in local areas. This may be anything from collecting groceries to being available on the end of the phone for a chat. We are maintaining an active list of groups here (these are not affiliated to the Lib Dems).
