Lib Dems welcome Brexit extension

Telford and Wrekin's Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidates have welcomed the extension to the Brexit deadline announced on Monday.

"This is brilliant news for our country," said Thomas Janke, candidate for the Wrekin.

"The government was told in March not to waste this time and yet we appear to be no further forward six months later."

Telford Candidate Shana Roberts also expressed her relief that the no-deal cliff edge has moved back:

"We are still in the European Union and the Lib Dems are still fighting," said Shana Roberts. "My message to voters who want to stop the Brexit chaos, and move on, is lend your vote to the remain party, the Liberal Democrats, at the coming election. Let's demand better than this chaotic government."
