Sir Vince Cable Visits Telford

Former Lib Dem leader, Sir Vince Cable dropped into Telford and Wrekin, virtually, on Thursday night. The coalition government business secretary addressed local Liberal Democrats at their virtual AGM.

"We were delighted to secure such a high profile speaker as Sir Vince," said local party spokesman, Woodside Councillor Greg Spruce.

"Sir Vince answered questions on a wide range of topics from the Coronavirus pandemic to local planning. Vince highlighted the importance of the need for more social housing and policies to tackle the climate crisis."

Earlier in the evening Telford and Wrekin Liberal Democrats elected their executive for 2021, with the following members elected:

Chair - David Ellams

Honorary President - Diana Wright

Secretary - Thomas Janke

Treasurer - Sally Wiggin

Membership Development Officer - Greg Spruce

Data Officer - Paul Howard

Diversity Officer - Cathy Salter

Ordinary Members - Kim Tonks, David Goodall, Irene Evans and Ricky Wise.
